Panorama. Festival of Rooms

Within the great projects that materialize the implementation of the Cultural Model of the Murcia City Council, and as a pioneering initiative on the national scene, Panorama is born, the first Festival of Music Venues in Spain. With this initiative, the Consistory recognizes concert halls as cultural spaces, thus equating them to performing arts and cinematographic exhibition halls, claiming them as part of the city's cultural heritage.

'Panorama' will promote the Murcia brand at the level of cultural events, it will be the first major venue festival in Spain and will be held in the city of Murcia, offering pop, rock, jazz, electronic, indie, punk, heavy or rap concerts, for all audiences and for all tastes.

In its quest to change the perception of the live music scene, recognize the cultural value of clubs and take into account their social impact, adapting their needs and practices, with appropriate policies, the Department of Culture of Murcia will integrate these concert halls to the municipal network of cultural facilities that provide services to citizens, placing identification plates in all of them. All this will mean a proliferation of new cultural environments and activities of a transversal nature that will feed the municipal cultural program and connect with the public of the concert halls.

In addition, all the rooms will be in person on the audiovisual platform of the Murcia City Council, Oculto TV, through concerts via streaming or recorded for later viewing. In this way, following the line of democratizing and popularizing culture and the arts, making them accessible to all types of profiles and remotely, thus offering the possibility of making Murcian talent visible and thus constituting an audiovisual showcase for emerging creators.

'Panorama' is a new boost to live music, so punished during the pandemic, which highlights the importance of venues as places where large groups emerge at a national and international level. Also as an objective that its programming supposes a boost for local groups, which will have special importance within its agenda and, where there will not only be concerts, but also round tables, masterclasses, clinics and street performances.

The person in charge of developing the visual identity of ‘Panorama’ has been Víctor Clemente, a graphic designer and art director from Murcia based in New York and Madrid. His work focuses on the development of communication campaigns, brand identity, editorial projects and animation. In his work he explores an eclectic visual language that studies the relationship between the physical and digital performance of graphic design.
