Murcia’s Circus Theatre reopened its doors, after having been closed for 27 years. For the reopening, five years of rehabilitation work were necessary, a complexcaused by the building’s loss of several fundamental elements. Once these setbackswere resolved, Murcia regained an emblematic venue for the performing arts, whose activities will begin next season.

Under the tutelage of the Murcia City Council, specifically its Department of Culture, the Circus Theatre's programme performances cover the majority of theatrical genres and styles, ranging from circus itself, to theatre in its most diverse styles (infant, drama, contemporary) and including contemporary dance, alternative music and cinema.
